CourseTrack
Privacy Policy
Last updated July 13, 2026
CourseTrack is operated by Midpoint Accounting Group Co. ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the CourseTrack app and website collect, why, and what we do with it. We've written it in plain language on purpose.
The short version: We collect the account and coursework information you give us so the app can do its job. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. Authentication is handled by Supabase, our database and authentication provider.
Coursework information you enter. This includes your courses, terms, institutions, assignments, due dates, scores, grade categories and weights, credits, and target grades. This is the core content of the app and is stored in your account.
Documents you upload. If you use the transcript import or syllabus import features, the document you upload is processed to extract course information. The document itself is not stored. It is transmitted for processing, read, and discarded. Only the course information you review and confirm is saved to your account.
AI assistant conversations. If you use the AI study assistant, the messages you send are transmitted for processing so a response can be generated.
Basic technical information. Our hosting and database providers log standard technical data such as IP address and request timestamps as part of operating and securing the service.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, address, phone number, or date of birth.
- We do not collect payment information in the mobile app. The mobile app is free.
- We do not use advertising identifiers, ad networks, or third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not access your contacts, photos library (beyond a photo you explicitly choose to upload), location, or microphone.
How we use your information
- To operate the app: store your courses, calculate your grades, and show your deadlines.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To process documents you upload, so course information can be extracted for your review.
- To respond to you when you contact support.
- To diagnose errors and improve reliability.
We do not use your coursework or conversations for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers to run CourseTrack. Each processes data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting of your account and coursework data.
- Netlify — application hosting and the server functions that process uploads and AI requests.
- Anthropic — the AI model that reads uploaded transcripts and syllabi and powers the study assistant. Content sent for processing is used to generate a response and is not used to train models.
- Cloudflare — bot protection on sign-up, to keep automated abuse off the service.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and coursework data for as long as your account is open. Uploaded documents are not retained.
You can delete your account at any time by emailing info@midpointcorp.com from your account address. We will delete your account and its associated coursework data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@midpointcorp.com. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with row-level security so that your records are accessible only to your account. Passwords are hashed and never stored in readable form. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and design for it.
Children
CourseTrack is intended for students aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Educational records
CourseTrack is offered directly to individual students. Information you enter is yours, entered by you, at your choice. We are not acting as a school official on behalf of any educational institution unless we have entered into a separate written agreement with that institution.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that meaningfully affects how we handle your information, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
